The world's largest solar plant for sewage sludge drying was built for the island of Majorca in collaboration with Thermo-System Industrie- & Trocknungstechnik. The plant dries more than 30,000 tonnes per year of sewage-sludge every year on an area of 20,000 m². 24 electric "pigs" rummage through the sludge to ensure optimum drying. The plant consists of a central aisle and 12 side aisles. Two halls are provided for delivery. Roof and partition wall roofing are made from 16 mm insulation glass and in some areas from 4 mm tempered glass. Construction period: approx. 5 months.
